Share Your TransRockies Run Story

Soulstice Publishing is partnering with TransRockies to create a new book celebrating the 6-day “summer camp for big kids” known as the TransRockies Run, and we’re calling for submissions. If you’re a TRR runner, volunteer, crew, or other race supporter, share your TransRockies Run story today!

Readers of our first book, the award-winning To Imogene, a Flagstaff Love Letter, already know the format. Collect stories, poems, essays, photos, and social media posts from lots of people, but them together in a colorful book, and you get a work of art with the genuine flavor of a special experience.

The Imogene and TRR books will be similar, but very different, just as the runs they celebrate are different.

Share your TransRockies Run story!

Here’s the official Call for Submissions from TR president Aaron McConnell:

****** CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS ******

Hey all you TransRockies runners out there! We’re putting together a coffee table book to celebrate the incredible experiences and memories created on the trail during this iconic event, and we want to include your stories! Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a first-time participant, we want to hear about your most unforgettable moments.

Did you have an experience on the trail that still sticks with you to this day? We want to hear all about it! Did someone help you along the way and change your experience? Let us know who they are and how they made a difference.

We’re also looking for those funny stories that get retold at every post-race gathering. Was there a crazy moment at a specific checkpoint or aid station that you can’t help but laugh about now? Share it with us and make us smile!

And of course, we want to hear about those tough moments too. Did you hit a wall and want to quit, but found a way to push through? Tell us your story and inspire others to persevere.

Submissions should be 500-1500 words in length. If you’re interested in sharing your story and want to hear more about the submission process, please contact Ryan Bell at ryan.bell@transrockies.com.

Don’t forget to tag your TransRockies Run friends and collaborate on a submission! Let’s make this book a true celebration of the TransRockies Run and the amazing community of runners who make it what it is. Submit your stories and ideas now! ~Aaron
