“Voices” and “Lens” bring home gold for Soulstice

Two Soulstice Publishing books earned three golds in the New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards for books released in 2022.

Voices of Navajo Mothers and Daughters: Portraits of Beauty, by Kathy Eckles Hooker with photographs by David Young-Wolff, took first in the Multicultural category, while The San Francisco Peaks and Flagstaff Through the Lens of Time, a rephotography book by John L. Vankat, placed first in the Arizona History category. The cover by Mary Ross also earned first place in the large books cover design category.

Both books are in their second printing since their release last year. They are popular with locals and tourists alike for their detailed perspectives on our region in text and photos.
