Be like Bayi! Run from the front

A world record-setting legend who stunned the running world with his blistering pacesetting is telling his story and you can pre-order it now.

Filbert Bayi’s autobiography, Catch Me If You Can: Revolutionizing My Sport, Breaking World Records, and Creating a Legacy for Tanzania, is coming this July just in time for what will be a grand month for track and field fans. The World Championships will be held in Eugene, Oregon, before the Commonwealth Games commence in Birmingham, England.

Bayi will be in attendance in Birmingham as a Commonwealth Games administrator—and he still holds the 1500m meet record with the world record 3:32.16 he clocked in 1974 in Christchurch, New Zealand. That performance led Roger Bannister and many others to call it the greatest middle-distance race they had ever seen.

Readers of Catch Me If You Can will not just learn about how the unknown Bayi trained and learned to race in a riveting athletic career of ups and downs, but also how he later committed his considerable energy to be an educator and give back to his beloved country of Tanzania.

You can be like Bayi and run from the front by being one of the first to own his long-awaited autobiography. Pre-order now!
